A lot of shelves,

With many a book.

Why not come,

And have a look.


Crime and hate,

Love and mystery,

Even geography, and history.

Short stories, tall tales.

And for DIY books,

You need screws, and nails.


Old books, and new,

Some slightly blue.


The thing in life,

We all need,

To sit down with a book,

And have a good read.

About the author

Harold Schechner

Harold Irving Schechner was born in 1936. He was a ladies’ hairdresser in England. He came to live in Israel in 1984. For 16 years he worked as an emissary for a medical company in Israel.
He is happily married to Jeannette for 59 years. The have three children and eight grown-up grandchildren, three of whom are currently serving in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
