Covid-19 has rendered many people irrelevant, their skills and services put on long-term hold. The park bench, often reserved for the elderly, is currently shared with considerably younger members of society. All lives must matter!

Running, rushing, scurrying –

Racing through the marathon of life.

Eyeing longingly a park bench,

Its inhabitants seemingly content

To be done with all that strife.

Glaring, dozing, staring,

Heaving yet another sigh …

Sitting rigidly on the bench,

And, yearning to return ...

To the marathon passing by.
