‘Neighborhood’ becomes ‘Community’

Students (above) and children (below)from the community enjoying end-of-year parties

During September the latest 'Students Build a Community' project was launched by ESRA and the Netanya Municipality in the neighborhood of Sela. This is an exciting addition to the sister projects in Hefzibah which has been running for eight years, and Kiryat Nordau which is in its fifth year. The huge success of these projects in generating upward mobility through education of the children in severely depressed areas has been so well appreciated by the Netanya Municipality that they have chosen ESRA as their partner for all future projects in this field. Also, we changed the name from 'Students Build a Neighborhood' to 'Students Build a Community' as the broad aspect of ESRA's wide range of support is truly forming a solid base on which each community can move forward. This minor change better reflects the wonderful work we are doing.
