TWO CAPACITY crowds were totally gripped by the film itzhak about the life of virtuoso violinist Itzhak Perlman.
ESRA Modiin Music Lovers opened 2020 in spectacular style with this delightful film which demonstrated not just the musical gifts of its subject but equally impressively, his modest demeanor and self-deprecating sense of humor. His wonderfully understanding and empathetic wife endeared the man as much as his music.
Grateful thanks go especially to Stuart Razin, who suggested and helped to arrange the showing, Rachel and Efraim Shani and Rhona and Eric Berzack, who each provided warm hospitality.
Thanks also go to Katrina Manobla who has just taken over running Modiin Music Lovers, and to Arthur Miller who kindly travelled from Beit Shemesh to present the film to a full house on two separate evenings.

Carol Lipman came to live in Israel from London in 2012 after a career in education which included teaching, lecturing and careers counseling. Her interests include travel and the arts. A committee member of the ESRA Modiin branch, she has found the local community to be extremely friendly and supportive. Two of her nine grandchildren who range between 10 years and 10 months, have been born since she moved to Israel, and she hopes that one day she will be able to have a conversation with them in Hebrew.
