Trip down South

Driving down the highway

Driving towards hell;

Hell on earth

With a sad sad story to tell

A place where love and laughter

Once reigned

A place full of happiness

Turned into a reality so insane

Unspeakable events happened

But speak we must

For the world just doesn't understand

It is with our own eyes we must see

It is with our hearts and minds

That we can trust.

We see the pictures of those who perished

We read their stories of how they

Were defiled, murdered, raped and taken

Dead or alive

We wait for such a long time

To learn who has died

And who survived

And now we come to visit

To pay respect on these hallowed grounds

We walk around quietly

No one utters a sound

Many groups have come to bear witness

To listen and learn the events of that awful, awful day

Silently we visit;

We visit and we pray

Mmm

We pray that this will be the last time

The last time we face such atrocities

We pray for peace

As we walk amongst the trees.

It's important to remember

More important to impart

Don't let the world turn a blind eye

Speak from your heart

The words will come to you

You need not worry how to start.

The words will flow freely

The pictures emblazoned in your mind

Believe me when I say

The words…

You will you will find
