Around The World
The Students Build a Community Project in Neot Shaked started the year with an "Around The World" happening organized by the new students participating in the project. The children attended seven different "stations", each of which represented a different country. For example, children competed at the Australian "jumping in a bag" race, jumping like a kangaroo; In Greece, where flour mills were first discovered, the children dug for candy in bowls of flour; Yemen's station had the children walking along a short curved track with a bowl of water on their heads, simulating pumping water from far away and carrying it home ... and more different stations.
The children had a wonderful time running from one country to another, and at the end had a story time highlighting the message of togetherness and unity among people of different types and different countries, finding the unique and special diversity of each.
This is the first year of the SBC project in Neot Shaked, and this was the first joint activity with the children. We look forward to a year of challenges, successes and good times.
