Canadian born Heddi Lash spent her idyllic 1950s childhood in the small Ontario town of Oshawa. At the age of ten her family moved to Toronto, where in 1974 she graduated with a Bachelors degree in psychology from York University. A few years later she met and married Mark Keil of Montreal, and following his scientific career they moved to the prairie city of Edmonton, Alberta, where their 5 children were born. Ten years later, a further career move led them to Norman, Oklahoma. Although happy there, believing that Israel was really the place where Jewish people should live, the Keils moved once more, this time settling in Raanana in 1999.
Heddi has always been sensitive to the mystical within her life. Although she has had to deal with two tragedies within her family, she has found that her spirituality, the warmth and kindness of the Israeli people and the subsequent birth of six beautiful grandchildren have helped her immensely.
Her interests lie in reading history, portrait drawing, and freelance writing. She teaches English in Herzliya.
