Glenis left school at the age of 16. After school she completed a secretarial course and worked as a secretary and personal assistant until she married Lawrence at the age of 20. She has had a varied professional career. Together Lawrence and Glenis ran a retail business for 40 years in Manchester where they have lived all their lives. Glenis also ran a property business and ten years ago she did a course in Reflexology which she thoroughly enjoyed. When they moved to Israel they both retired. Glenis made Aliya 18 months ago with her husband and they live in Raanana. They are having a wonderful life and have met many interesting people who have now become their very good friends. ESRA has been a great way to meet people and they love all the wonderful projects that occur on a weekly basis. They go on the monthly walks with Jack Rabinowitz and through ESRA they teach English every week. They start every day smiling with the children, that are part of "the walking bus" and walk them every morning to Ariel school. This project is run by Ariel school in conjunction with the iria. They also work at Beit Issie Shapiro on a number of projects which is very satisfying. The best part of living in Raanana is that their daughter her husband and their four wonderful grandchildren live just one street away. They also have a son and daughter in law living in Brooklyn, New York and three adorable grandchildren. Glenis mother Netta Green also made Aliya at the age of 86.
