Claire Rabin was born in the USA and made aliyah to Israel in 1973. For over forty years she has combined an active private practice in therapy with couples and families together with an academic career at Tel Aviv University. During this time she traveled frequently and was able to complete her doctorate at University of California Berkeley as well as to do several sabbatical years abroad. She ran an institute for couples therapy and supervised several groups of therapists. After retiring from her full time position as professor she took up her hobby of painting in a more serious way. Her husband, a musician born in Israel, joined her in doing therapy for couples and together they created a marathon of three hours to help couples break through impasses in their relationships.
She was the mother of three grown sabra children (two are in the helping profession).
