Betty Kazin immigrated to Israel from Holland in 1964. From 1960-1964 she worked at the Israel Embassy in The Hague as the social secretary to H.E. Ambassador Hanan Cidor (Citroen) - his brother was a famous painter and Hanan himself was a sort of bon-vivant-artist (originally from Berlin). He was replaced by "General" David Shealtiel (always told us that he was a Sefardic Jew from Hamburg) - well known for his military actions in Jerusalem (1948) and later served as Ambassador to Mexico. Betty also cooperated with General Uzi Narkis (military attache posted in Paris) organizing the 4-days marches in Nijmegen. It was Narkis who urged her to go to live in Israel. In Israel Betty joined Ulpan Akiva. She also participated in the excavations at Massada about which she said “it was the best introduction to Israel life”. Later she worked as a front office clerk at the Dan Caesarea hotel, then moved on to the Tel Aviv Hilton Hotel as a cashier and at the purchasing department. Her next job was as secretary to Israel Pollak, owner of Polgat Industries, and became office manager in the team for the erection of the Gadot Petrochemical Industries in Haifa "under the baton of the Johananoff Brothers" – for her a very exciting period. Betty married, moved to the States and returned in 1986 to Zichron. She published her own newspaper, worked free lance and is still occupied editing scientific articles and organizing workshops at the biomedical faculty at the Technion.
