Chairperson's Message -222
Dear ESRA Members,
As we enter a new year together, I want to take a moment to reflect on our collective achievements, share updates, and express my gratitude for your unwavering support. Despite the challenging times, ESRA has continued to thrive, demonstrating resilience, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to supporting our community across Israel.
Expanding Our Impact with New Partnerships
One of our most exciting developments this year has been the establishment of new partnerships with Intel and SAP, alongside strengthened collaborations with leading academic institutions such as Reichman University, the Technion, Tel Aviv University, and Hebrew University. These connections not only expand our reach but also open doors to new initiatives and resources that will enrich the lives of many. With these partnerships, we can create even more meaningful educational and social programs, benefiting both our members and the communities we serve, not just the SBC or excellence projects, towards which these partnerships are being currently built.
Community Resilience and Emergency Response
In light of recent events, ESRA's commitment to community support has only deepened. Our emergency funding initiative, through which we allocated a significant portion of 755,000 shekels, has helped address immediate needs and provided essential relief. Thanks to your generosity and our incredible team, these funds have already been distributed to those who need them most. This rapid response would not have been possible without the hard work of our dedicated staff, volunteers, and the backing of our ESRA community.
Celebrating Our Volunteers and Donors
Our volunteers continue to be the backbone of ESRA, driving our mission forward in countless ways. Earlier this year, we held an appreciation event for the Students Build the Community (SBC) program, where we celebrated the efforts of our student volunteers, who work tirelessly in four locations across Israel to support young learners and build connections within their communities. It was a joy to see these students, alongside our other volunteers and donors, come together to celebrate their shared impact.
We've also had ongoing appreciation events for the English Tutoring Program (ETP), both in Israel and abroad. These gatherings highlight the incredible work of our tutors, who provide essential language support to students. Their dedication not only enhances English language skills but also builds confidence and opens up new opportunities for young learners.
Support for New Olim and Building Connections
One of the unique aspects of ESRA is our dedication to helping new olim integrate into Israeli society. Our 40+ group, specifically designed for olim, has held several events aimed at fostering a sense of belonging. These gatherings provide a welcoming space for newcomers to connect with each other and gain confidence as they navigate their new home. It's incredibly moving to witness these individuals form friendships, share their experiences, and support one another through the ups and downs of their new lives in Israel.
Celebrating ESRA's Milestones
Though initially planned for earlier this year, we made the difficult decision to postpone the celebration of ESRA's 45th anniversary until the current crisis has subsided. Our hope is to hold this milestone event in 2025, bringing together our members, volunteers, and supporters to celebrate all that we've accomplished together. This anniversary is not only a chance to look back but also an opportunity to recommit to our vision for the future.
Strength in Diversity of Programs
While our flagship projects such as SBC and ETP often take the spotlight, it's essential to remember the breadth of ESRA's work. We are proud to support a variety of initiatives, each making a unique impact in their respective communities. From arts and cultural programs to social welfare and educational projects, each of these endeavors plays a role in strengthening Israeli society and supporting individuals from all walks of life. Every project, no matter how big or small, embodies ESRA's core values and mission.
Moving Forward Together
As we look ahead, I am filled with optimism for what we can achieve together. Our community is strong, passionate, and committed to making a positive difference. I encourage each of you to continue to be involved, whether through volunteering, attending events, or supporting our projects. ESRA thrives because of people like you—people who believe in our mission and work tirelessly to bring it to life.
In closing, I want to thank each and every one of you for your ongoing support and dedication. Your involvement makes everything we do possible. Together, we are creating a brighter future for Israeli society, one that values diversity, community, and the power of giving.
Let us continue to move forward, united in our vision and inspired by the impact we can make together.
Warm regards,
Nella Feldsher
