The Bar Sagi Young Poets' Prize Poetry competition in English is for Israeli school children aged 12 - 19.

Bar Sagi, a talented Israeli poet who died at age fifteen, documented her journey with illness and hope and her remarkable life force in a series of poems which were published after her death. A few months before she died she wrote about herself.

"Bar Sagi is a 15-year-old girl, who has an imagination that is maybe a bit too big. Her greatest wish is to live a healthy, happy life, and to meet people from her stories."

After her death her family discovered 25 exquisite poems written out in her own hand-illustrated book entitled, "See Me Soar and Spread My Wings".

In honor of Bar Sagi's courageous and vibrant life, her family have established The Bar Sagi Young Poets` Prize. The poems must be written in English, as Bar wrote her own poems in English.
