Italian with a Passion for Israel

Victoria with Pier at a club for Ethiopian youth in Sderot

This past summer, I brought Pier Giuseppe Greco from Italy to visit Sderot. He told me that he loved the tour so much that he will never forget Sderot.

I first met Pier Giuseppe on a tour to Israel in December 2003, organized by my sister for the Italy Israel Association. I was living in Rome - my husband had recently passed away and I joined the tour. It changed my life, as it made me decide to come on aliyah, which I did over 10 years ago.

Pier Giuseppe Greco is the present President of the Italy Israel Association for the section of Alba, Langhe e Roero. They are a group of people, most of them non-Jewish, who support Israel. Pier has now retired and works very hard for the Association. He speaks both French and Italian fluently. Together with all the members of the Association, he consults the online Italian newspaper Informazione Corretta, known to the English-speaking world as "Honest Reporting".

Pier Giuseppe Greco is a great supporter of Israel. Since 2003 he has often been to Israel, where he volunteers in Sar-el first and then stays on in Israel, the country he loves. Now that he has retired he dedicates his whole life to doing what he thinks is his mission in this world: SUPPORT ISRAEL! When he comes to Israel he is always my guest.

Pier helped organize for a group of people to be taken on buses to Geneva on June 29, 2015, to support Israel in talks that took place there. Already last year and this current school year he has succeeded in organizing important people to talk to students in schools in order to explain the truth about Israel, and the menace of terror that is currently shadowing the Western world and our lives. Recently, the Italian journalist Maurizio Molinari of La Stampa talked to students in Alba about the "The Caliphate of Terror", why the Islamic State menaces the West. I, too, was invited to one of their meetings in Alba to talk about the life of the ordinary man in the street in Israel, and how it is affected by the tensions on the frontiers.

The work that all the members of this organization do is on a voluntary basis. It is a passion and they do it with their hearts and souls. They are all professionals but mostly from the Italian legal world.

The Association's website is www.israelelangheroero.it
