ESRA Lends Support to Ukrainian Refugees

During March and April, refugees began arriving in Israel from Ukraine. They needed help to start a new life here. They needed to find housing, jobs, food, clothing, and especially financial assistance to buy medicines.

I wondered what I could do to help them and make a difference. So I decided that my rock band Rough Edge would put on a rock and roll benefit show to raise funds. I turned to my friend Glenis Bertfield at ESRA, and immediately she was on board with all the arrangements.

We hired the performance hall at Raanana's Mercaz HaMusica, which holds 80 people, and Glenis helped to arrange all the ticket sales and publicity. Within a week we were sold out! The show took place on April 10th and I can honestly say it was a great success, both musically and financially. Substantial funds were raised for ESRA's emergency fund, and we even had donations from people who couldn't get tickets because the show was fully sold.

Happy to do it again any time.
