The Frances Greenberg Book Club had an end of the year luncheon at the home of Bess Hoffman to celebrate our getting together every month to discuss a book which becomes even more interesting from the interpretations that each of us sees and gives to the book we've all just read.

The Club is run by Linda Epstein who got the group started seven years ago with the encouragement of Frances Greenberg who had made aliyah at the age of 87 and who was looking for a book club like she'd had in the States. Frances sadly passed away at the age of 93, still an avid reader, and so the book club is named in her honor. We are 16 members coming from Givatayim, Tel Aviv, Hod Hasharon, Herzliya and Raanana, all of us originally from USA, Britain and South Africa, with different professions making us a motley group of book lovers who enjoy each other's company. At this "Getting-to-know-each-other luncheon" we were each given three minutes to talk about ourselves and it was fun to hear what each took out of our lives to tell us in three minutes.

We start the year by each of us putting in NIS100 towards an ESRA community project.
