The Mirror Cracked From Side to Side

Taking a much-need walk during a long period of pandemic lockdown,

ESRAmagazine editor Merle Guttmann and her daughter, Mandy, came across a cracked mirror discarded in a deserted field in Mazeh Street in the heart of Tel Aviv. Mandy caught the skewered image on her smartphone.
The result? An eye-stopping portrait what some might call 'art in the time of coronavirus'.

About the author

Mandy Guttmann

Mandy was born in South Africa and came to live in Israel with her parents, Merle and Gert Guttmann, in November 1962.
She studied at the Kfar Shmaryahu junior school and at Gimnasia Herzlia high school in Tel Aviv.
She is a multidisciplinary designer (Bezalel) in interiors, furniture, and textile. She is also a certified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Teacher (IDC)
Says Mandy about herself: “I am a human being on the never-ending search of truth, happiness and harmony. I am always trying to be a good mother to my three wonderful children – Omer, Lyle, and Yahly.”
